The Role

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our structures team in Nottingham. We are well known locally for our work in the education sector, designing new teaching blocks and university buildings at an existing site to new build schools, our projects can range in value from 2-50+ million.

Day to day you will take the lead on projects, be able to work independently but also collaborate with the wider team when required this will include delegating work & mentoring junior engineers & Technicians.

Assist in the management of a team of engineers and technicians of varying experience, including planning and managing resources, finances and quality control requirements. You will be coaching individuals one-to-one to help them achieve their development goals while supporting a team to work effectively and focus on their development.

You will be assisting the Business Unit Director with client liaison for bid and concept design work, responsible for managing our more complex projects, and assisting the structural team on all projects in the office.

The Right Fit

Someone with experience of leading and managing a varied portfolio of projects; including developing design delivery programmes ensuring that the project team are always in communication and schedules and resources are planned appropriately.

You will have an understanding of project finances and how to control WIP, debt and profitability and will be actively working under a recognised professional Institution training pathway.
